The most common form of flaming most often occurs on internet messageboards and forums whereby one member becomes tired of the general attitude of another and dedicates a public message to the other in the form of libel. The most common tactics and strategies employed within this example are when the troll attacks the victim accusing them of either blatantly discouraged activities, which have been falsified, or referring to their interests and activities in a negative manner. For instance one might refer to another with a great interest in Japanese art and language as a "Weaboo", or "Wapanese" (assuming they are Caucasian). This is hardly offensive by itself, but coupled with other obscenities, epithets, and derogatory slang terms it can cause a whirlwind of emotions for the victim.
My girlfriend then sends either "ExampleUsername.on.nimp.org", or "profiles.on.nimp.org/?account=Exampleusername", which simulates the general format of a real social-networking website's URL. At this point we all sit and wait, because generally the first thing to happen once the user has clicked on the link is the volume-indicator on their camera will skyrocket while "I'm watching Gay porno!" can be heard echoing loudly through the background. In some cases the user will attempt to insult my girlfriend with one line of text before their computer crashes, or their webcam goes dead. Those users whose computers do not crash will instead sit back in disbelief while viewing the most commonly known "shock" images such as Goatse, Tubgirl, Lemonparty, and the "Pain series".
I have seen people literally break down and cry when they have been hit with the "NIMP" method. I've watched as a girl's friend runs over to console her, and also a mother become infuriated and shouting at her son, "What are you doing over there?", after hearing the "I'm listening to Gay porno!" soundclip. Results vary, but again the scenario surrounding the use of the link must be semi-believable in order to yield a successful attack.
